Marc Boivin

Chairperson

Marc Boivin has achieved nationwide recognition as a dancer, creator and teacher. He performed for many years with the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, and has chaired its board of directors since 2005. From 2005 to 2010, he was a member of the board of directors of the Conseil des arts de Montréal and sat on the dance committee. In October 2010, he was elected president of the Regroupement québécois de la danse.

Ginelle Chagnon

Vice-Chairperson

Ginelle Chagnon was the Fondation’s rehearsal mistress and assistant to Jean-Pierre Perreault for many years. She currently assists choreographer Paul-André Fortier. She has earned an established reputation as a teacher, and receives frequent invitations from both Canadian and international institutions. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2003.

Pierre MacDuff

Secretary and Treasurer

An active participant in Montreal’s cultural scene for over three decades, Pierre MacDuff now sits on the board of several theatrical companies and organizations, in some cases after having been their co-founder. General Manager of the theatre company Les Deux Mondes, he joined the Fondation board in autumn 2006.

Theresa Rowat

Board member

Theresa Rowat is an archivist engaged in dance and audiovisual heritage issues, and has been a longstanding advocate for dance legacy in Canada. She is currently Director of the McGill University Archives. Theresa Rowat became a member of the Fondation’s board in autumn 2006 and also sits on the board of directors of the Réseau des services d’archives du Québec (RAQ) and on the board of directors of the Canadian Council of Archives. Theresa Rowat has recently been appointed member of the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board.

Anne Bénichou

Board member

Anne Bénichou is a lecturer in History and Theory of Art at the École des arts visuels et médiatiques of the University of Quebec, Montreal. Bénichou’s research is based on the study of archives, forms of memory and the historic narratives that emerge from contemporary artistic practices and the institutions responsible for preserving and disseminating them. She joined the Fondation board in autumn 2011.
