Large group work for 22 female dance students and 2 male dance students. This work was set on the students of the Bachelor’s degree in dance of l’Université du Québec à Montréal.

Joe (1991 remount)
The 1991 remount of Joe, was coproduced by the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault and the Festival Iles de Danse, Paris. It was performed at La Villette, Paris and danced with half the cast coming from Montreal and the other half from auditions held in France. It was remounted for 31 dancers.

Joe (1994 remount)
The 1994 version was the last that was reworked by Jean-Pierre Perreault. This final version was remounted on 32 dancers, women and men of all sizes. Jean-Pierre was aiming to work with a balanced cast. This production was possible thanks to the collaboration of Toronto’s company Dancemakers and of the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers. Half the cast came from Montreal and the other half from both of these canadian dance companies.

In 1996, this 32 dancer production was remounted for an American tour with 25 dancers from Montreal and the 7 dancers of Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers.
